I am on a budget. What would be my best way of seeing the battlefields?
Our prices start from (start price), staying at Chavasse Farm or Snowden House battlefield accommodation. We will arrange for a guide to accompany you in your vehicle.
Can a guide pick me up, drive me around the battlefields and drop me off?
Yes. This is the most common way for you to experience the battlefields.
How much will my tour cost?
Each tour is priced on your requirements. Simply by answering a few questions on our enquiry form we can give you the most competitive price.
Can I have more than four people on a tour?
Yes, that is no problem. All of our guides have experience with guiding large groups. Just contact us with your group size and we can discuss logistics and prices.
Which extras, not included in my basic tour fee, can I pay a supplement for?
We can conduct in-depth research into your relative’s military past. See Genealogy Tours.
We can arrange minibus hire for larger groups.
Time and fuel expenses for pick up & drop off points outside of our usual locations.
Do we visit museums?
The choice is entirely yours. Your guide will inform you of the different types of museums and entry fees, letting you decide.
Where do we eat and when?
Your guide has an extensive knowledge of places to eat and drink on the battlefields. They will advise you on the different types of establishments. The choice of where and when to eat is then down to you.
Can we bring a packed lunch?
Yes, that’s fine. There are some great picnic spots around the battlefields.
Where do Great War Tours pick up & drop off?
Pick-up and drop-offs are available at Amiens, Lille, Albert, Arras, Ieper (Ypres). An additional charge may apply for other pick-up/drop-off locations.
I have difficulties with mobility, should I let my guide know?
It is our duty to look after all our guests to the best of our ability. If you feel that the guide should be aware of a medical/mobility condition please let them know. Any information provided will be kept in the strictest of confidence.
Can you help me to research a relative?
You do not have to book a guided tour for us to research your relative's wartime service. We have self guided tours, so you can follow in your relative's footsteps with our help. We also have a research only service.
What if I decide I would like to change the itinerary at the last minute?
It actually happens quite often. This means your guide has the necessary experience to re-arrange the tour. If you would like to change a part of the itinerary please let us know as soon as possible. This gives your guide time to carry out additional research if required. Visits outside of the battlefield may have an extra charge; your guide will advise.
